My friend joined the military a few years back and at his going-away party I explained to him that if he was ever called into battle or a gun fight to focus and stay calm. I told him that I read somewhere that the human brain responds to practised chanting and that during stress if you were to repeat a particular phrase it would immediatelty calm you, and put your brain into a state of hyper-focus. I said this particular phrase was translated from either an old Viking war cry or Mayan prayer to the elder gods (I told him I couldn't recall which) and told him to holler it out when confronted by the enemy.
I prompted him to repeat the phrase slowly, and then increase the frequency and volume.
The phrase was:

"OWA!"
"TOGOO!"
"FIAM!"
