Uncanny X-Men 132 (1980?)
Cyclops
Storm
Colossus
Nightcrawler
Phoenix
Wolverine

I don't think I realized at the time that Professor X & Angel were part of the team.  It was a long while before I got the surrounding issues.

At the age of 4 or 5 I was introduced via the Greek edition of the Marvel Comics to the original line-up of Cyclops, Beast, Ice-Man, Angel, Marvel Girl and Professor X.
A couple of year later, I "met" the new team of Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Wolverine, Banshee, Phoenix plus Beast, Polaris, Prof. X and Havok in the original edition of Uncanny X-Men # 125.

I can't recall the year, but the first X-Men team I encountered was comprised of the Angel, the Beast, Cyclops, Iceman and Marvel Girl.

for two or three months before the marvel issues where everybody was drawn to central park and got sent to the "secret wars",there were little bits in the various titles with the beyonders' presence being felt by this one or that one--spidey was getting extra intense spidey-sense bursts, prof. x suffered debilitating psychic attacks, reed's instruments kept detecting something powerful out in space, ect.

i had just started buying/reading/collecting comics and all this is how i figured out that [besides obvious liscensed things] the marvel characters and their adventures in the various marvel books actually take place in the same place at the same time! so while i can now look at secret wars from a distance and see it for what it is,it'll always have a special place for me.it was my entry into the marvel universe.

so the JRjr uncanny, coming out of storm winning leadership of the morlocks and going into the secret wars is "my" x-men.stuck with the mutant books until a little after secret wars 2.

It was the summer of1977 and I was 11 years old.

I had bought a 10 pack of comics for $1 from a now-defunct Fells Point comic shop  in Baltimore.

X-Men 103 was in that pack.

The team had consist of NightCrawler, Storm, Banshee, Wolverine and Colossus and they were fighting Black Tom Cassidy and the Juggernaut.

Did not buy another X-Men comic until the team fought Mesmero in X-Men 111.
