Coming in late to this party, but before looking at that Marvel Fanfare cover, I've never seen JB draw Thor in the Simonson-era armor before. I like it!

JB: ...there is really no significance at all to Kitty looking at the viewer -- except to be "cute".

---

I get it! In reply I've pointed out that Puck must be JB's favorite given his spot in the bullpen drawing. The response I get: "Well yeah. Haven't you seen the Alpha Flight poster?"

He's talking about...

Yes. He's crazy!! :)

...and now I need to drop this subject before he gets pissed at me. (He visits here -- but doesn't post)

I never cease to be amazed at what people can read into my work. A sizable percentage of Big Bad Byrne stories come from this source -- I say "Green", and they parse it down to "blue and yellow" and then decide I meant "blue".

Crazy!

JB: As part of having Kitty brought into the group, I wanted to use her to remind readers that Kurt was a MONSTER, and "normal" humans could not be expected to be comfortable around him.

---

The same problem happens with the Thing -- people forget about the "monster" part...

JB,

Was the calendar art below meant to represent where the series was headed? I know the plan was to bring Bobby back...

I never noticed Wolverine's soft and doughy gut in that drawing before. What an unfortunate change. Thanks for posting the original, I've not seen that before.
