Matt,

I just got released from prison. I don't like boxing games, either, but I didn't think this was too bad. The fight segments were pretty short. One of the biggest kicks for me is owning a Jefferson Futura! I drive every where with that.

If Shattered Dimensions, is anything like Web of Shadows, I'm going to have to pass. I couldn't stand Web of Shadows. I would easily consider that one of the worst games I've ever played.

Looks like the rumors were true, Duke Nukem Forever is coming 2011 from Gearbox.

Full story here. I'll keep an eye out for this one, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Halo Reach is due out on Tueday and so far has a metacritic average of 94. Lowest score is an 8/10 and highest is 10/10. 24 listed reviews total.

I've got mine preordered and set for launch date delivery but I may not play it for a while as I'm feeling stuck (in the mildly addicted sense) in Borderlands again.

I have become obsessed with Plants vs. Zombies.  All is lost.

Have you tried Osmos and Aqauria? How about World of Goo? VVVVVV?

Halo: Reach is out. Anybody bought it yet? I have a brother-in-law that works at Microsoft and he is ordering me a copy, so it will be a few before I get my hands on it.

I'm thinking about Reach, but it will probably be a while.

Right now, I'm playing Mass Effect (first version). Really don't like the controls, I would have preferred more first person and more variation in weaponry. But the story is pretty good so far, and Seth Green makes up for some of the bad bits.

But soon it will be time to put everything on hold, while I take a trip to Vegas for some gambling, geckos and Super Mutants. Very exciting. I can hardly wait!

-----

They should stop announcing Duke Nukem Forever and just have it show up mysteriously on the shelves one day. In limited releases, so that it starts out as an urban legend.

I finished Mafia 2, last night. I thought it was a great game. I'm going to start playing the free dlc the PS3 version comes with this week.

I picked up Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, after reading some reviews. It's definitely what Arkham Asylum is to the Batman games, but it's more of a button masher than B:AA is. Playing as 4 different Spider-Men is pretty neat.

Hope no one here bought APB (All Points Bulletin). It just shut down after only 3 months. There are rumors Epic Games may buy it, but that's doubtful.

Kevin, I can't wait for civ5.  I recommend GoHastings.com to anyone trying to pick up preplayed console games on the cheap.  Almost every month they have a short buy2-get1-for$1 sale.  Good stuff.

Thanks for the recommendation, David. Been looking for a used copy of Transformers: War for Cybertron for a while and GoHastings not only had it, but for a decent price, too.

So I picked up SPIDER-MAN: SHATTERED DIMENSIONS last week.  Should have done some research on the game because more than likely I wouldn't have bought it.  That doesn't have anything to do with the quality, but the fact that at it's heart it's a fighting game.  There is no exploring.  The world isn't open.  It's basically one fight after another after another.  Those kinds of games have never appealed to me at all. I've gotten frustrated more than once because it takes a specific set of moves, mashing buttons in a specific order, to defeat many enemies.  Also, the camera can be a bit wonky which affects targeting objects.  What it does have going for it is some pretty sweet animation, a nifty overall story with some nice voice work, and one that you can play as four different versions of Spider-Man.  I like the Noir version best, as his game play has more to do with stealth than just button mashing the villains to death.

If you like fighting, button mashing games, this one is for you.  If you like open worlds where you can explore and discover creative ways to defeat the enemy, stay away.

My one complaint about SHATTERED DIMENSIONS is the camera. Especially when you are wall-crawling, the camera will flip around and send you in a completely different direction.

I agree completely about Shatter Dimensions-The Noir Spidey plays exactly like Arkham Asylum

Kevin mentioning Plants vs. Zombies got me thinking about iPhone games. Been playing a game called Monster Mayhem for a few days. Great time waster.

Civilization V is a fine game, although it seems much less ambitious than the Leonard Nimoy-narrated Civ IV.

Looks like Captain America is getting his own game in 2011. And it is not based on the movie.

LINK to trailer.

Looks pretty good and I have always been a fan of the character, so I'm going keep an eye out for this.

As long as it's not a fighting game ala SHATTERED DIMENSIONS, I'll keep an eye out for it.  If it's just jumping from fight to fight, then count me out.

I just received Castlevania: Lords of Shadows from Gamefly.com, today. I dunno. It's a beautiful looking game, but it feels like just another God of War knock off. Same old button masher formula, etc. I've been playing it for about 2 hours, and I'm already bored.

I've been playing GTA: Chinatown Wars on the iPad. It's a lot of fun. The missions are short and simple. I think it's available for the iPhone, as well.
