Funny thing about that Aurora Hobby Kits ad posted earlier...  Saw most of those kits at a local hobby shop just the other day re-released (and in some cases remade) under the Polar Lights label...

The Mattel Fright Factory ad also brings back memories, although the only toys in that series that I actually had were the G.I. Joe and Incredible Edibles ones...

Not about to say "Uncle" to Matt just yet:

A classic. Did any of you guys ever attempt to order a
monkey from a comic book? Know anybody? I can't see it
turning out well I'm afraid...

Wow a monkey, I am sad I never got one of those. Seriously I would love to know if they really sent a live monkey. Man I hope someone on here actually got one.

I recall Jay Leno saying on "The Tonight Show" that he had ordered a monkey as a kid. It arrived one day while he was coming home from school. His mother had opened the package and the animal jumped out and ran around. Leno's mother started chasing the animal around with a broom when he arrived home. He said it looked like a freaky bald little man, and it ran past him outside never to be seen again.

This is one of the best threads!!!!

These ads are from an era when the possibility of sitting in a 7 foot sub with your pet monkey was very real. I feel sorry for today's kids.
