Yeah. I tried not to hold that against him.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS returns to FX next month, so high time for a marathon re-view of the first season.

SLEDGE HAMMER! (s1)

This mock of Dirty Harry was a "must see" weekly for me back in the eighties.
Still has some grin worthy moments, the pacing is a bit off tho.
Lots of real time references happening, would probably need some translating to the younger generation.

Terrorist: Demand, "I want the Star Wars Program to end!"

Hammer: "Yeah, 3 movies was enough."

Watching the Ken Burns doc on Vietnam right now. There’s a LOT of
backstory I never knew about.

We’re new Hulu subscribers.

The three existing seasons of A HANDMAID’S TALE, which was phenomenal. There were a few episodes that had me feel like I was nearing an anxiety attack, I was so nervous for the lead character.

11-22-63.  Stick with the book.

I’m enjoying it. My father-in-law served there. While he’s always been
opening to any questions, I’m having to “bite my tongue” as it were and
refrain from starting a deluge of questions. I think I’ll wait until I finish it
then just ask a few questions.

I do have an uncle that is a doctor who served as such in Vietnam. I
was always told never to ask him anything about it. To my knowledge,
he still doesn’t talk about it.

VIETNAM by Burns is probably the best I've seen on that war.

I had a cousin killed there. A couple of years ago I came across the "final mission" of his company that practically gave a shot by shot account, that killed all of his company but one, the witness who gave the account.
Horrifying to read.

A couple of decades ago a (former) friend informed me that 50,000 children were kidnapped every year in this country by Satan worshippers. I pointed out that 50,000 Americans lost their lives in the whole length of the Vietnam war, and all of us know someone, or know someone who knows someone who was killed there.

Didn’t moderate his slide into madness one bit.

STAR TREK - "The Doomsday Machine" - pretty much my favorite TOS episode
came on MeTV last night while making dinner, and I got sucked in to the whole
episode. The writing is perfect, and this is one of the few that benefits from
new special effects. During these crazy times with the temptation to just
watch news 24/7, great to see TOS as a reliable port in the storm.

Message for Doug: "Trust me. I know what I'm doing."

Watched WHAT/IF on Netflix over the course of two days. It stars Renee Zellweger, Jane Levy and Blake Jenner. And....its the second worst thing I've ever seen Zellweger in (I fortunately have never seen any of the Bridget Jones movies). The worst being a godawful tv movie she did called SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROCK! She does do a bit of scenery chewing, as well.

The big problem is Zellweger is the villain, and her character's motivation isn't explained until episode 9 or 10....and comes off like the writer just thought it up out of nowhere.
