I worked in that block-long building in the lower middle for 7 years! Google now owns the building, so they kicked us out 3 years ago.

That's some old stock footage they used. Looks like the elevated West Side Highway is still there along the bottom (that section was town down by the mid-80s).

Also odd that they used that vantage point. The neighborhood shown in the foreground is mostly Chelsea, not Greenwich Village.

Vinny's right.

(Also, personally, I thought Chelsea was a lot more fun than the Village by the time "Friends" aired.)

Ok, I'm going to embarass myself a bit, but here goes - while I was working in midtown during the mid-90's, I came across the Chelsea-Clinton News newspaper. I was wondering why they'd named a newspaper for the President's teenaged daughter. I didn't realize that it was named for the adjacent neighborhoods Chelsea and Clinton (also known in some parts as Hell's Kitchen).

It was a bit of a challenge, but because I understand a little of stock footage...

Wasn’t Peter Parker’s apartment in Chelsea?

Sounds like something out of "The Onion" circa the late 90's, Vinny. I took the NY Bar Exam at the Javits... given it was the freakin' Bar, I can only consider it in Hell's Kitchen, nothing so genteel as Clinton!

Sorry, JB, if this tangent went on too long...

Remembering that I started my FRIENDS marathon with S3, I jumped back to S2. Again reminded of how many of the familiar tropes were nailed in place right from the get-go. I can’t recall too many shows that so thoroughly hit the ground running.

Scrubs Season 3 and 4

The "epiphany" roof toilet episode guest starring Michael J Fox is still one of the funniest episodes

I “lost” SCRUBS a while back. Too bad, really. I used to enjoy it.
