Both of these comics were the first time I ever saw these characters and were my introduction to them.

The only one I remember for certain was the first one I purchased with my own funds:

For me it was way back in the late 1950's!

First Marvel Comic.  Introduced to Captain Marvel, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Rick Jones and Annihilus.  Life-long fan of Mar-Vell and The Vision, both of whom are dead now.  sigh...

The first comic I ever owned was Incredible Hulk #225. But I bought that because I had seen the Bill Bixby TV show. I didn't start collecting comics until 2 years after that and this was one of the first ones I got:

I'm still a huge fan of those old Ghost Rider comics.

The first time I ever saw the X-Men was here:

Of course if anyone has ever read this issues knows that the 'X-Men' don't even appear in the issue. Not the best 'first' issue for a series I've read. Consequently, I didn't start reading X-Men monthly until about 2 years later.

The first time I ever saw Wolverine?

I ask you, "What 10 year old could ever resist that image!" I loved it and still do. Of course it was this series that lead me to start reading the X-Men as I recognized Wolverine on this cover:

And I've been buying Uncanny monthly since then!

Where it all began…

Tho, technically, this did not introduce me to Superman. It was THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN TV series, with George Reeves, that did that. However, this hardcover, black and white volume served as my introduction to a whole new world!

This is the only one I remember specifically seeing the characters for the first time.  This book introduced me to both the Teen Titans and the Doom Patrol.  I loved this cover, and just the name "Doom Patrol" sounds sooooo cool, it started a life-long love for the team.  I stuck around with the Teen Titans for a while after this, maybe a year or two, but the DP group really made and impression on me, the Titans, not so much.
