Ad Astra

I hated it, too. Long, slow, boring. There were some amusing surprises like the moon pirates and the face-eating space monkeys, but the second hour was just tedium.

I think I saw the Moon Pirates open for the Face-Eating Space Monkeys back in '97.

Gemini Man: predictable and predictably terrible, but also very entertaining. It teeters on being so-bad-it's-good but doesn't quite commit. It's like someone challenged Ang Lee to make as preposterous a film as possible while still phoning it in. (Although it's... interesting how Lee constructed an action movie around camera angles that look like they were framed by film students -- lots of close two-shots and over-the-shoulder dialogue.) There's a third act un-twist so lame and uninspired it's almost ballsy:
INVISO TEXT (Click or highlight to reveal):
In a movie about cloning, it's hard to get less surprising than... another clone.

Hey, you guys realize that putting text in white doesn’t actually make it unreadable? I can still see this. Use the actual INVISO tag.
