Surprisingly, most of the out-of-print DVD-ROMs are still available from Amazon at not-too-outrageous prices. Avengers and Captain America seem to be the most ridicuous, with Hulk not far behind. Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and X-Men are still a bargain!

Marvel DVD-ROM Collections

Amazing Spider-Man Complete Comic Book Collection ($47.99)

40 Years of the Avengers ($123.00)

Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer - Complete Comic Edition ($49.99)

40 Years of the X-Men ($49.99)

Incredible Hulk the Complete Comic Collection ($90.00)

The Invincible Iron Man: The Complete Collection ($69.00)

Captain America the Complete Comic Collection ($200.00)

Ghost Rider the Complete Comic Collection ($28.94)

I remain heartbroken that that the planned Daredevil and Thor collections never came out. I would have also loved an Avengers Vol. 2 and Spider-Man Vol. 2.

When Marvel pulled the plug on this, the manufacturers had a release that alluded to something else coming up, but no details...I wonder what happened with that?

I wish more of these were coming out but, alas, it was not meant to be.  I'm glad that I at least have all of the expensive ones!  All I need now is the Ghost Rider and Spider-Man collections.

If you have a Half Price Books store in your area, you might find them cheaper than that; I found the FF and Spider-Man for $15 each there.

I'll have to check, but I'm pretty sure I got the whole series as they came out.

I made a big error in not getting the Captain America one when it was retail price.

They've released collections of Mad Magazine, and of the Star Trek Comics (everything pre-IDW).  They're starting in on Archie collections now, I believe.

Even if they aren't going to release any more collections, I would still love the opportunity to buy digital copies of back issues. I'd be more than happy to pay a buck an issue on some kind of iTunes-like service, as long as I got to keep the actual file.

I have a copy of Amazing Spider-Man CD-ROM that I'm looking to unload. Email me if you are interested!
