I wish I could find some examples of Murphy Anderson's John Carter.

Here is the Dejah Thoris commission from last year. It is one of my favorites.

It's great how you can get such a quick response to most comic book queries on the JBF.

Michael Whelan's art was the first I had seen with John Carter and Barsoom. So his work comes to mind first with the characters.

Finally.
Is it coming from Disney, Paramount, or some other studio? I recall contacting Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. about doing a John Carter film, and they told me that Paramount had the rights to the character at the time.

Disney. Paramount chose not to renew the rights in 2006, and Disney picked them up the next year.

Except for that insanely crazy lion's mouth on #1, I can't go wrong with Bret
Blevins on John Carter

Whelan was my first John Carter artist, so his work is what I think of, just like Neal Adams is "my" Tarzan artist.
I don't think Burroughs ever had Tarzan and John Carter cross paths, but he did have his Earth's Core stories cross over with Tarzan. Did those Dark Horse comics have the two characters? It looks like they made Tarzan and John Carter the same person based on the covers presented.
