I'm kicking around the idea of attempting a small-scale sculpt of Hank McCoy circa the "blue, fuzzy" Byrne/Perez Avengers era.  I'm shooting for something that would fit in with the Eaglemoss Marvel Figurine collection, but I can't picture the Beast in a static "just standing there" pose -- he needs to be leaping or balancing or doing something Beast-like . . . like THIS, for example:

The problem with this type of pose is that at the Marvel Figurine scale, this type of running/leaping "crouch" would make the character pretty short compared to the other "standing" figures.  One option would be to also sculpt a base -- something for the Beast to be leaping over, or something for him to be balancing on.  I thought of doing something semi-whimsical like a beach ball with Hank balancing on on top of it in a pose similar to the statue above. Your classic striped beach ball would add a bit of color to the display and it would capture Hank's personality nicely, but it wouldn't exactly look "Avengers-esque" sitting on the shelf next to Thor, Yellowjacket, the Vision, et al.  A rocky base or rubble seems kind of cliched, and in some ways a "short" crouching/leaping Beast figure would look right at home alongside (or in front of) the other Avengers figures.

Anyway, I'm playing around with an armature now coming up with various possible poses, and I've been scouring the Web for images but so far I keep coming back to the statue image above as being more or less MY ideal representation of the blue, fuzzy Avengers-era Byrne/Perez Beast.  I'm definitely open for suggestions, though.

Anybody got any ideas?   Images are most welcome.

If you want this to go with the EM figures, I'd suggest less of an "action"
pose than a gorilla-like stance. A kind of "loping along" pose.

That's kind of what I'm thinking, JB, but I haven't found any good example pics to work from (hence this thread!).

At this point I've got an EM-sized armature bent into a reasonable facsimile of the Beast post shown in the StatueToys.com image I posted above -- if I don't come across any usable "loping along" images, I may just go with that.

I'm also kicking around the idea of a "handstand"-type pose, with the Beast perched on one hand with both feet in the air above him (along the lines of the "somersault" image Brad posted, to some degree).

Thanks for the input, guys -- I had spotted the JB image that Nathan posted in the Gallery section, and while it's close in terms of hitting the Beast's personality, it's not how I would envision him just "hanging out" with the Avengers line-up.

The earlier JB pic (I think that's JB, from the Marvel Universe Handbook?) posted by Brad looks a bit too "tentative" for me -- not quite a "loping along" pose, not quite an action pose, not quite a "hanging with the Avengers" pose.  Plus, it looks a bit like the pose used for the Eaglemoss Black Panther figure, and I've seen a couple of Beast customs based on that figure, so I"m trying to avoid that particular kind of "loping along" pose just for that reason.

Here is a Perez image of the Beast.

Let us see "in progress" images of your sculpt, if you can.

Steve -- YES!  That's the kind of pose I've been looking for!  I'll have to play around a bit with my armature tonight to see what I can come up with based on that reference, but I really like it -- THANKS!

Once I get the armature fully posed and "finalized," I'll try to post some pics (love doing the full work-in-progress documentation, from the armature on up).

Here is another Perez Beast:

The Avengers Chronicles with Beast on a ball:

Maybe someone can get a better scan, the Beast is holding an ice cream cone.
