Yeah, Spidey can lift about 10 tons, while Shulkie and Colossus are fifty tons and over.

This was before the Official Handbook series dotted the i's and crossed the t's.  I still don't think that it was a good idea to put specific limits on any of the characters abilities.

In any case, the art is from Amazing Spider-Man Annual 15.

I like it because it doesn't have numbers, just a level.  Nothing set in stone, just a general idea of caparitive strength amongst our Marvel heroes.

I like the idea of characters being bracketed within strength ranges, without actually defining the range, rather than specific strength levels as was done in the Handbooks.  That being said, some of these guys and gals are ill-placed, especially She-Hulk and Colossus.

  • Namor up one.
  • Colossus up one.
  • Luke Cage down one.
  • Ghost Rider down one.
  • Werewolf by Night down one.
  • Spider-Man down one.
  • Silver Surfer left off.

That's that!

Oh, and Iron Man should be represented again at his operational level.

I've just never had any real interest in the character. It seems as though
Marvel just wanted to lock up the name. He's just another strong guy in a
universe that didn't need just another strong guy. And that "just shy of Thor
in strength" thing is just tired.
