Perfect anatomy?

I dunno...Thor's thighs look a bit "thundery" to me here.

As for good storytelling, I'd contest that too, but not here.

The anatomy is correct there. You might say "But Thor isn't supose to be that stumpy!", probably, but anatomically it's well drawn. His approach to the character is another story.

How many heads can you fit in your own thigh?

Blech, I think knowing that JMS is writing that somehow actually makes the art unappealing on its own by association.

Does Phil Jimenez count?

His recent Spider-Man stuff has been blowing my mind.

"How many heads can you fit in your own thigh?"

Probably one, but I'm not Thor. How many heads does the Hulk fits in his thigh? It a matter of proportion. I think Thor can go somewhere between Hulk (classic) and Cap.
I can't look at that picture and say "Hey, this is wrong!"

Wow Armindo. Each to his own and all that but I would not like you to be in charge of picking artists for my favourite books. Daniel Acuña's work makes my eyes bleed and caused me to drop a well anticipated run on the Flash. When it comes to Oliver Coipel anatomically accurate is not a word I would use either. As it happens I enjoy his work but his stuff is exagerated quite a bit if you ask me.

The Hulk is a monster, Thor should at most resemble an olympic body builder. That picture of him up there is damn near Rob Liefeld proportions.

Joe Buscema got it right Eye-Em-H-Oh.

My reaction is the polar opposite.  I look at that image and try to see how it could be construed as "right" but it's just not happening.  The thighs look either too fat or packed with excess muscle, neither of which is appropriate to the character depicted.

Re: Acuña's work, I could be the one off here, but that last image looks like it has some weird perspective.

I never mentioned him, you have to talk to Joe!

An olympic bodybuilder with 6' 6" and 640 lbs (according to Marvel)... that image doesn't seem that off. And about looking like Liefeld, geez... I may understand the problem some might have with those thighs or an arm or whatnot, but come on... give the guy some credit!

Mine, too, Paulo. It would be physically impossible for two legs that size
to come out of that pelvis as drawn. Sitting and walking would be
impossible, and there wouldn't even be room for genitals. The anatomy
in that drawing is horribly unrealistic.

GORAN PARLOV!!! I loved his stuff wayyyyyy back on Outlaw Nation!! (remember that one? oyyy it was not so good of a story but the art work!!! YEAHH!) His Punisher work is excellent!

PHIL JIMINEZ - I've always liked his work but his decision (or the editors) to make Spider-Man a bit like McFarlane's is something I don't like at all. Oh well.

Does anyone remember the late EDWIN BUKOVIC? (I hope I spelled his name correctly) He did the Human Target mini written by Grant Morrison. FINE work! Also did a Grendel series...Devils and Demons? (the mind is going)

CLIFF CHIANG! I so loved his Josie Mac mini stories that were at the back of Detective comics...I'm torn on his current Green Arrow/Black Canary stuff tho...

LEINIL YU: I really like his stuff...wayyyyyyyyy back when he was on Uncanny X-Men it was GREAT. The New Avengers stuff is pretty ok, I see some flashes of brilliance...for some reason, some of his stuff has a Chaykin feel to it.

EDUARDO RISSO: Seen his stuff from 100 Bullets in black and white...AMAZING stuff!!!
