This reflects a pattern that I've noticed for the year or so: a dearth of Bad-Byrne moments.

Both off and on the JBF.

Good form!

Thanks to Doom's outburst at Kristoff and the self-destruction of one of his doombots, I find it very hard that Doom would ever use the word "need".  Sure, he has needed things/people before, but he would never phrase it thus.

The Doom scene is disheartening.   Ms.Marvel is even takes the insult to heart to the point that Wonder Man has to re-assure her that she is not fat.  Strangely enough, he didn't defend the whores comment.  Hmmm.  The Avengers is full of this kind of writing, characters taking verbal potshots, cheap insults, and general disharmony.  They do not act like heroes at all.  Captain America must be rolling in his grave.

That Doom panel is horrible.  I suppose the Byrne-bashers and fan-boys thinks it's a classy example of everything a comic book should be.

Damn. Doom's a sunnuvabitch, but he's supposed to be a noble sunnuvabitch.

Staying on track, it was a very nice blog.

••

Noble? Isn't that a prize they give out in Sweden?

A couple of decades back, Roger Stern observed that one particular writer
could not handle superhero comics because he could not conceive of anyone
being more noble than he was (ie, not so much). Back then, the guy
represented an exception, now he would be the rule.

LMAO @ Paul.

That panel is another reminder why I currently do not purchases any current books from the House of Bad Ideas.
