How many pages officially qualifies as 'king-size'... I've always wondered <g>.

Hey, 38 page books are called "double-sized" when the regular books have
22, so maybe it's best not to ask!!

Marvel Annuals in the 60's were the best. Always a special story you wouldn't get in the regular title. I still remember how disappointed I was when I came home with the first batch of 1969 annuals and finding they were all reprints.

Reprints are like kissing your cousin (not that I would know <lol>), but they do introduce the reader to classic stuff they might not have been aware of.
Or drive older fans to seek out the originals <g>...

It used to be possible to read the annuals even if one were not reading the monthly title. Lately, annuals seem to be there to finish storylines that were too late to be included in the regular title on time.

I had a great time today (it's carnaval holiday) reading the Avengers Annual
from 1994 - Roy Thomas and John Buscema (Big John doing his own inks,
which is doubly sweet).
Pluto and Loki set a Titan on Hercules's trail, and...
1994 is way past MARVEL's prime, but, what the hell, a little magic was
still there! Good stuff!

My favorites used to be the X-Men Annuals Arthur Adams drew.
And the FF and Avengers Annuals with the Skrulls, which JB drew.
And the Alan Davis X-Men Annual.
And...

I'm a huge Hercules fan, and I'd never heard of this Annual. But wha-f**k is going on with Herc's costume here. Good grief.
