One of my favorite acquisitions in quite some time:
Rorschach by Dave Gibbons! Gibbons was
the star attraction at Motor City this year. What a
great guest! I got to make up for having passed on the
opportunity to meet him at MidOhioCon way back in 2001
(the same con I first met JB!).

Eddie Nunez 11x17 commission picked up at Alamo City Comic Con. I asked for no dramatic looking off or fighting poses and to keep it light. I think he delivered and his detail is awesome (I did enjoy Deadpool's foot on Shredders helmut).

KING SOLOMON'S MINES - episode 3

Episode # 3, from a total of three unpublished strips completed by artist Frank Bellamy. Intended for EAGLE magazine, as a replacement strip for FRASER OF AFRICA, but aborted when the Editorial team decided not to go with two consecutive African-based series - and replaced by MONTGOMERY OF ALEMEIN.

Here's a recent addition to my collection of movie poster original paintings . . .

Tom Chantrell's artwork for the 1968 British western, SHALAKO.

I went to the Love Is Love auction at Megacon and picked up
a few great pieces, supporting a great cause. Equality
Florida advocates and supports the LBGTQ community in a
variety of ways. Sad the we live in a society that
necessitates these organizations, but glad that people
continue to stand up.Amanda Connors....

Keep that kid drawing! Too many of us walk away from it.

Here is the final piece from the Orlando trip, picked up at
the Love is Love auction. Birthright #25 wrap around cover
art, donated to the auction by Andrei Bressan. I've really
enjoyed his art, since meeting him about 3 years ago.

Finished pencils and prelim pencils by Mike Ploog for
the book ROY THOMAS PRESENTS THE HEAP Vol. 1. I love
Ploog, I love the Heap and it looks like the layout to
MTU 68 which I collect! Perfect piece for me!

I finally reconnected with Jacob Chabot at a convention!
Since I first became aware of him I knew he would do a
great version of MTU 68....I had no idea it would be
THIS good!

One of the main draws to Charlotte for me this year was
the chance to meet Jerry Ordway. I was third in line to
meet him on Friday and was able to get this fantastic
Captain Marvel sketch from him. He was nice enough to
indulge me and included Mr. Mind!

A friend brought a Rags Morales piece that I commissioned
from him at a small con in NJ a month or two back.

One of the great aspects of comic conventions is the
ability to find artists that I'd otherwise not have a clue
about. Laura Truxillo is a recent SCAD graduate. She is
working on developing a comic, featuring a young Lucky
Luciano. She put together an ashcan with a handful of
pages. Loved it and am psyched to see it become a reality.
I immediately asked her for a commision of the two main
characters and hope to see much more of her work.

At Heroes I discovered Patrick Dean. Worth looking into
if you see him at a show! I requested King Kong and
told him to do whatever he wanted with it:
