JB -

I was flipping through the FF Visionaries books (of yours) and was looking at some of the great Dr Doom poses you've drawn over the years.  I know you've also drawn a couple Dr Doom commissions, too.

Kind of a strange question - but is there any particular drawing / pose of Dr Doom that you've done that YOU think personifies the character - OR - just a pose that you think is the best one you ever did (of Dr Doom) ?

Thanks

I'm rather fond of the commission piece of Doom holding the globe.

That Doom holding the globe would make a magnificent cover.

Doom seated on his throne holding the world in his metal gloved hand sums up the whole character for me.  The texture of this piece is incredible.

I just checked it again and noticed the world was on France's, Europe's and Russia's side...not that common a view in comics...I know it's because Latveria is supposed to be in Eastern Europe but still, I'm happy to be crushed by Doom.

Being a big Doom fan, I like that image a lot too.  I wish I would have thought of it.

I liked the Dr Doom from the Iron Man 148 - 150 (?) story WAY back in the 80s - when they traveled in time to King Arthur's era.   If I remember, Bob Layton did the inks - not sure about the pencils.....I could be wrong.

That was John Romita, Jr. on pencils on Iron Man with Layton inks.

Doctor Doom is one of those characters that has this sense of power no matter what pose he does. My favorite is when he is standing with his arms crossed.

I think one of the coolest Doom covers ever is by Buscema (I believe, forgive me if I'm wrong) from Marvel Super Heroes 20.
