That Invisible Woman whateverthehell (statue?)
is a perfect example of why the current version of 'Marvel'
sucks.

Hey, I'm all for pornography, but this is just stupid.

Disgusting that someone approved this piece for mass production.
Way to crap all over an all-ages comicbook character.

(I don't wanna be online when JB sees this pic)

Anyhow, this was spotted on Ebay (from AFI.com)

Also Elastigirl and Mento for the JLU 4-pack available through Mattycollector.com.
But here's the kicker, these figures haven't even been announced yet. The seller is from Hong Kong I believe, so I assume these 'fell off of the truck' somehow.

(currently Mattycollector is offering a 'Gotham Criminals' pack, and Legion of Superheroes. -Brainiac 5, Lightning Lad, Cosmic Boy, and Saturn Girl as they appeared on the Justice League cartoon)

That Invisible Girl statue is not only horrible but embarrassing and offensive to that character.  Brutal!

Mr. Byrne - I just wanted to say that the 40th Aniversary issue has always meant a lot to me. I bought it when I was a kid & I still remember being amazed at your art, which was shot directly from the pencils. It's so tragic that Roger & you didn't get to finish your run.

I have said for years -- decades even, that what is missing from many modern superhero comics is GRANDEUR. The books have become all about bringing things down to "street level", which is just fine if you happen to be dealing with Spider-Man, or Daredevil, or Batman. But which is simply nuts if you are dealing with the Fantastic Four, or Superman.

Something else that is increasingly absent -- and again, for quite a while now -- is elegance. I put this down to a kind of cumulative effect. Each "generation" loses focus a little bit, so it become more about shock and titillation, and the end result is something like that Invisible Woman piece. That's Little Annie Fannie in a Fantastic Four costume, not Susan Richards. Only --- it is Susan Richards, and has been since the first time she was drawn in a micro bikini sporting a navel ring.
