Truly horrible news. I had a long conversation with him at last years Heroes Con. He was a terrific artist and a nice guy. What a loss to our community. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

Horrible, stunning news. 'Ringo had such a neat style and his work is always a pleasure to look at.

Mike's brother, Matt used to post on the Net54 incarnation of this forum. In case you're lurking, Matt.....my sympathies.

My condolances to the rest of his family as well.

R.I.P. Mike.

If I had scans of my Ringo sketches, I'd post them.  We have lost a huge talent.  One of the last artists whose work I followed religiously

One of my favorite artists for the sense of style and fun he brought into the medium.  He'll definitely be missed.

As I think about it more, I realize how painful a reminder this is of the
passing of Mark Gruenwald.

The exact same date (Mark died on August 12, 1996)

They were around the same age (Mark was 43, Ringo was 44)

Same cause of death

When I heard about Mike’s passing, it felt like someone punched me in the chest. Someone very big and very strong.

Mike was one of the most generous and friendly guys I have ever known, and I'm proud to have been his friend.
