Newsarama is reporting the death of Mike Wieringo.
He was 44.
Very sad.

I hust read it and I was going to post the same thread here... I have always been a fan of Mike Wieringo, since I first saw his pencils on the Rogue miniseries over 10 years ago. And then Spider-Man, Superman, the Fantastic Four... I always enjoyed the stories drawn by him. Especially when Spider-Man was involved... He seemed bor to drawn him.
This is a terrible loss for me and for the American comicdom, which loses one of its more original and good artists.

I'm in shock! A great talent and he will be sorely missed. I'm only a year older than him, things like this really make you think about life and how it can be taken away so quickly.

I can't get the link to open. I am in shock--total shock. Ringo was a gem, who brought a fresh take to comics. I read Fantastic Four for the first time in YEARS simply becuase Ringo was doing the art. I am deeply saddened by the loss.

Oh my god!!! I just read this and I am SO BUMMED OUT....dammit. Loved his
art...
It was so refreshing to see Ringo's art come out in the 90s, when we were so
used to seeing nothing but over crosshatched, bad anatomy, big guns, over
noodled comic book art.

Sad, shocking news. He was a talented artist and far, far too young to die. My condolences to his family and friends.

What the hell? That's terrible. He was one of the few who could get me to
pick up a modern comic book.
