Very nice! Thundra's initial appearences in FF were happening just as I started regularly collecting that title, so she's been a favorite of mine for quite a while. This is another commission that I'd love to see JB do a full comic of.

JB, that is a great deal of fun to look at!

I've been a Thundra fan since I first saw her in Spidey Super Stories 24. Her battle with the Thing (and Ramona Fradon's battle with Joe Sinnott) in FF 133 is also a favorite. Thundra's one of those characters it's simply fun to check in on every few years.  Or at least she was...

Chad, if memory serves, Thundra and her husband Arkon were killed in the opening chapters of Busiek's Avengers Forever. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings (if I am correct about this, that is...)

Clint, I wonder if Thundra's vague visual similarity to Doc Samson is due to the two of them being Roy Thomas creations?

Thundra was in Avengers Forever, but I thought she died in JLA/Avengers.

Ray, you could be right.  Which may mean that she never died at all, depending on how "in-continuity" that story is at any given moment...

Outstanding. It's an "obvious" matchup, too.

Kind of commision that feels like a whole comic book should be built around it.

Thundra and her reality "died" in the same way that the Crime Syndicate's reality "died" -- i.e., their "deaths" didn't last long.

Well, the version of the Crime Syndicate I preferred is gone, Jason.  Has Thundra reappeared since her "death?"

You get a real sense of velocity and acceleration from this piece! It just hit me: the outlines of the buildings in the background almost operate like "speed lines." Very cool effect.

Has the Crime Syndicate reappeared since 52?

"Has the Crime Syndicate reappeared since 52?"

I think they're going to appear in a Countdown tie-in.  I remember seeing a Newsarama piece about the Atom winding up on the Crime Syndicate of Amerika's Earth, and we meet the Earth-3 analog of the Joker, called the Jokester.

Y'know, a whole lot of what's wrong with modern superhero comics is summed up in the phrase "Didn't So-and-so die in…?"

Like Brian, I also first encountered Thundra in Spidey Super Stories.  For me, though, it was one of the Spidey Super Stories that was in an issue of Electric Company Magazine.
