Pages 74 and 75 of "Modern Masters Volume Seven: John Byrne" by Jon B. Cooke and Eric Nolen-Weathington, published by TwoMorrows Publishing in 2006 includes samples of John Byrne's pitch to Henson Associates for a Muppets comic strip. Does anyone know anything more about this? Were there more than two strips produced? Why didn't it go into production? Who approached Byrne and Roger Stern and Terry Austin? And most importantly, what year did this happen?

Many thanks,

It would have been a couple of years before I got married, so around 1978 I'd guess. Jim Salicrup had some contact with the Muppet people, and asked Roger and me if we would like to try out for a planned newspaper strip. We did, but ours was not the work chosen.

To be honest, based on what was chosen, I cannot imagine why we didn't get the nod.
