JB, who else would you count among the 'we' mentioned in this quote? And what 'lessons' should we have learned from superhero comics?

It was funnier last time. This seems less inventive.

That's me and Matt Reed. However, the Asian guy pictured? They've been trying to pass that off as Joe Zhang for years, and, as I've noted before, it's not Zhang.
I guess to the average lonely comic nerd all Asians look alike or something. The racism of it takes away from the fun - still, in the end, it's still funny that some nerds somewhere are so lonely that they hang on our every word. They get on our case for interacting with John Byrne, while they lose sight of the fact that it's a healthy interaction - while their obsessing, sexually at some times, vaguely threatening at others, on people from an internet message board is so far off that scale...well...
But in the end, it's flattering - that people hang on our every word, our every action - we have our own little nerd papparazzi! And considering that the kind of lonely comic nerd who has time to keep up with the comings and going of average people on an internet message board is also the type of geek who couldn't pick a vagina out of a police line-up, well... I can't decide if I should laugh at or pitty these poor racist bastards!

Actually, the guy in the flyer is a "Joe Zhang". You can find him under an image search in Yahoo. But he's not me. Thanks for the defense, though.

That's right. You all can look me up under "Asian stud".
Um, maybe not.

Somebody actually printed copies. That's pretty sad. If they were just going to waste money like that, I'd have taken the cash off their hands.

Wow. I have one of the (I presume) original photocopies. My friend said it was on the DC table at Baltimore a few years ago. I never mentioned it because I didn't think it was right. But I had intended to scan it & send it to Matt, since he's one of the "stars." It's in one of my comic boxes though.
I wish I was cool enough to spend all of my time and energy mocking people.

I wonder if a copy of this has ever been shown to that
other Joe Zhang. Or possibly to his lawyer.

'Inane, tired crap' or LOL-worthy 'comedy gold'? It's so very hard to decide. No, wait, it isn't. 'Crap' it is.

*sigh* [can't even bother to work up a "what the?!?!"]
Mike O'Brien wrote: "we have our own little nerd papparazzi!"
Now that's just hilarious. Not the fact that it's going on, but actually labelling it that, Mike. Gave me a well deserved laugh (which the flyer didn't).
As for the entire "Joe Zhang" bit, I must admit that I've never even really thought about Joe's ethnicity. Whenever I think of something he's written or commented upon, I see Peter Parker in tears, so that's the power of an image for you.
Rewatching Twin Peaks right now (since I just got my Season 2 box 2 (Swedish edition)) is also interesting given Mike's recent re-appearance in here. Seeing Cooper does tend to pull my mind in here at times.
