Thanks for the images, Ryan -- that helps a  lot!

round frames would suffice.

Good to know -- the square-ish '80s look might make this somewhat more do-able, though.  Time for me to get my inner "mad scientist" in touch with my inner "sculptor"!

Hmmm -- sounds a bit like Ultron's origin . . .

;-)

I just tell my older kids that if they get into my stuff, prepare for me to do the same to them.  They hate having dad 'clean' their rooms.  All those notes from boys that they never wanted me to see...

Careful, laddies! It's not so long since, in another thread, I was being torn
several new orifices by posters holding me up as the Great Satan because I
would not let poor, innocent children play with my action figures!

Was Heather based on anyone in particular?

Thomas, I think I recall JB saying that Heather was based on this actress...

Her name is Lisa Blount...she played Debra Winger's buddy in An Officer And A Gentleman.

Not "based on", per se. I drew Heather, in UNCANNY, then a few years
later saw Ms Blount in a TV movie and said "That's her!"

From that point, my drawings of Heather were informed by Ms. Blount.

(She is seen to best advantage in John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS.)

For a long while now, I thought my wife would make a good Heather. I think
the shape of her face and nose are dead on.

Whattya think?

John Romita Sr?  Sal Buscema? Herb Trimpe? John Romita Jr?  All there in the magazine, all drew him pretty much the same as he's been since the 60's.  But did they go with any of these guys?  Nooooo...  At least the magazine will finally be worth having, good reference material for me.

Definitely need to buy more green stuff to add the much needed bulk.

I seem to have missed this -- Ryan, what is this "green stuff" of which you
speak?
