Did anyone ever play this game?

It is a NES game released in 1989. I have seen many ads in US comics, but never played it, myself.

I remember renting it once and not enjoying it, Robbie. But it was the first game you could be The Road Warriors, I think.

I had the WCW Nintendo game. I hated that Lex Luger's Torture Rack was turned into a Camel Clutch.

I had WCW Monday Nitro for the PC. Problem is, I had a crappy graphics card at the time, so all I saw during matches were the wrestlers and the ring, not the rest of the graphics.

I did play Mayhem at Wal-Mart a few times, though.....

As far as modern games are concerned, SMACKDOWN: HERE COMES THE PAIN is on my list. Love it!

So I feel that Seth Rollins is the most over superstar on the Raw roster but they keep pushing Roman (who I'm a fan of) on us. Do you guys think that the criticism of Raw (by the internet mainly) would end if WWE just decided to go with Rollins as the Universal Champion and build the stories around him?

Not necessarily, but it would help.

The ending of the Reigns-Strowman HIAC match was....and I'll be blunt, so pardon me....absolute bullshit.

I know it's a different time, and I'm comparing apples to oranges, but remember when McMahon - eventually - put the stop to the Lex Luger push. Right or wrong, he did so.

It seems in the modern era, they'll just keep trying to push something or someone.

I felt that the main even ruined what was a pretty good card up to that point.

Any ROH fans here?

I haven't watched much - there are only so many hours in the day - but I do like to dabble outside WWE and UK wrestling at times.

I completely lost interest in TNA (or whatever they are called now) many moons ago.

WWE's biggest babyfaces right now are Becky Lynch and Stroman - and they're desperately trying to make them heels, to no avail.

Any ROH fans here?

I actually watch ROH (the only live shows I attend outside of local indy shows), New Japan, Impact, and MLW (they post on Youtube a few days after their show airs on a channel I don't receive).

I'm perplexed as to why WWE wants Becky to be heel. She mentioned on a Stone Cold Steve Austin podcast that she would like to be one but it doesn't work for her character IMO. Braun has that early Andre the Giant appeal to me. He can be vicious in the ring but seems like a nice guy outside the ring. I think Charlotte and Sasha are miscast as babyfaces, I think that Roman could be a world class heel. I'm on the fence about Seth Rollins and whether he should be a heel or a face.

What about UWF and AWA? Can't seem to find them on any station now. TV listings magazines are useless, eh?

My guess for why they did what they did at HIAC?

They probably brought Lesnar into the mix so Strowman can eventually win the title without pinning Reigns in a 3-way match.

At least I hope that's the plan. Lesnar should not get another run with a main title any time soon.

If so, it would have been better to have a clear winner, then have Lesnar attack both afterward.

Feels like it was to set up the main for the Saudi Arabia show - which for the company is a HUGE show. They get between $20-$40 million PER SHOW on those events.  It's basically all profit.  If the Saudis want Brock, they get Brock.  And, apparently, Shawn Michaels.

-----

I don't have a fundamental problem with Becky wanting to be a heel or them wanting her to be one.  But the story was CLEARLY designed to make her the babyface underdog finally getting her shot and then in the match she has it won on her own, only for Charlotte, who added herself to the match even though she's supposed to be the 'best friend,' to steal the pin.  It was the most obvious heel turn in years ... for CHARLOTTE.  But somehow they thought Becky would be the one the crowd would turn on.  She's done basic heel stuff in her promos since then but no one cares.  They love her, she could punt a baby into the third row and the crowd would chant her name.

Glen Jacobs is going to continue to wrestle, despite being elected the county mayor here. They're doing something in Australia next month, and Kane will be involved.

Hope he can do both jobs while he's that far away....

I am not sure one can really be an elected official - anywhere - if you have a second career.

By the way, I love the look/colour of this belt:

Depends on the nature of the elected position, Robbie. Some City Mayors are simply glorified tie breakers in their city council governments, where a City Manager is the day-to-day operations manager. I'm not familiar with what Kane's city/county set-up is, but many mayors, county legislators, etc have a 'day job'.

Oh, I see. Thanks.

It confuses me in the US. Everything does. Governors, mayors, county commissioners, etc. Where does it all end? ;-)

And if I'm in Los Angeles, California, and a mugger is chasing me, do I call the California State Police, Los Angeles County Sheriff or LAPD? ;-)

So confusing (and it's the same here, many Americans have asked me why we have two police forces in London)...

The mayor in the biggest town near me runs his own drugstore and he's be re-elected a few times. Michael is pretty dead-on.

That Harley Race figure is awesome!
