Yes cos Quicksilver is always in a 'Rush' a bit heavy handed, but I forgive them!

Neil Peart said today that he considers himself retired.

+++++++++++
If Peart retired/retires, I guess that would make Rick Allen from Def Leppard the greatest active drummer in rock. And I'll fight anyone who says different.

(And yes, its been that long since I've checked out this thread.)

Much as I respect fellow Brit Rick Allen,I would say Mike Portnoy is heir to Neil's crown.

I recorded it,with no real hope of them being on,expecting Legs & Co to be dancing to it,as with Spirit Of Radio in 1980! Instead it was ELO they were dancing to,which was equally sacrilege! No Rush at all,not even played over credits! This is common,i think the shows at the time were 40 mins and these are edited down to 30.I`ve noticed that they usually remove the rock act.If memory serves me right Rush were`nt on anyway. Can you imagine Legs & Co dancing to Tom Sawyer? As that`s the track i assume they were promoting.

Bill, rewatch it. They were on! It was a live performance recorded in Canada of Tom Sawyer. Good performance but the sound was muddy as hell

Thank`s James,just set planner for E4+1!
As far as i`m aware there are recurring Rush references
in the series, and one character always wears a Rush t-
shirt.

For UK Rush fans, Sky Arts has a downloadable Classic Albums episode looking at 2112 and Moving Pictures.

Interesting to get the USA perspective on the group and their songs. Especially Tom Sawyer. It seems that in the USA this is the perennial song for the group.

In the UK, it is, without a shadow of a doubt, The Spirit of Radio. Thatís pretty much the only Rush song you hear on radio in the UK

I have the bluray with both on,it includes extra
footage not included in the documentaries. To be
honest,i think i have heard Tom Sawyer enough now!
Yes,Spirit Of Radio is better known here, but on Planet
Rock they do tend to play more than just Tom! Just got
in from work and New World Man was played! Time Stand
Still,Marathon,Subdivisions and Freewill have all been
played recently on Planet Rock.
On a related note,i recently won a `Star of the Month`
award at work, which included Amazon vouchers,i spent
them on the Time Stand Still bluray documentary, which
was very interesting,but very sad,and Neil`s last
book, which i am greatly anticipating reading!

There`s a phone app James,also you can listen online.The
powers that be took it off FM last year in favour of the
inferior Absolute.

Kerrang! was on FM,then Planet Rock took over the slot, now Absolute has taken over the FM slot from Planet Rock.Pretty annoying as Absolute is so generic. Also a lot of the country still can`t get DAB,North Devon being one area!I use the phone app and Bluetooth it too my surround system via a Bluetooth receiver I got from Aldi for £6.99! Plus I have a small system upstairs with DAB.

On a related note, the Farewell To Kings 40th Anniversary stuff looks interesting,i want the bluray with the Steven Wilson 5.1 mix!
