Hey folks,
I hope it's ok to post this outside of the "thanks" thread. This is the

and how to get the episode.

JOHN BYRNE ON AROUND COMICS PODCAST
Press Release

John Byrne, one of comics most influential and controversial artists, joins
Around Comics for a lengthy conversation discussing his three decade
career. Byrne discusses his working relationship with X-partner Chris
Claremont and how the friction between the two may have made Uncanny
a better book. Listen in as your hosts Chris, Tom and Sal ask John about
his work on the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Blood of the Demon, the
controversy that follows him everywhere, and much, much, more.

"Talking with a legend in the industry is an incredible thrill. There are so
many opinions about who John Byrne is, that it was a amazing to hear the
man explain his thoughts in an extended conversation" says show host
Chris Neseman.

Tune in to Around Comics Ep. 044 Monday, September 11th, for part one
of this candid conversation with a living legend.

Visit Around Comics at http://www.aroundcomics.com, or subscribe to
the show from iTunes, Yahoo or your favorite podcatcher!

It's great to put a voice to all the posts. I thought there were some interesting questions and comments. I may be wrong, but it sounded like all involved had fun.

One thing that really comes through in this interview is that JB is a funny, down to Earth guy.

Yup. It was a blast.
I'm also a big sports fan. I've had a couple encounters with athletes that I
admired that really hurt my opinion of them as people. I was so happy to
find out that Mr. Byrne was such a great guy. It's pretty rare when the person
meets the expectations you set them to.
I hope people that have formed a negative opinion of him without
researching what they've heard will listen to this and reconsider.

I have to say that I was probably the most nervous of the group going into this, but I came away with a fuzzy feeling inside. Thanks again to Mr. Byrne for his time, and insights!

"I was so happy to

He's like that in person too, as many on this board know already.

Very nice interview. Can hardly wait for the second. JB is a hoot in every interview I got the chance to listen to. I wish I could have gone to his last appearance in Mid-Ohio Con.

Hey Greg! (is this the same Greg from our forum?)

Part II is a lot of fun. After we got all the standard questions out of the way
we were able to kick back and just talk about stuff. The story about Kitty
Pryde is worth it alone.
What we're seeing already is that Mr. Byrne is what you call a "Move the
Needle" guy. The downloads on this episode are already pretty amazing. I
think there are a lot of people out there that want to hear what he has to
say.

Chris - this is Greg, the "MAGNITUDE" guy, from the Ape Entertainment
podcast in WizardWorld Chicago!

I'm glad that the JB podcast has been upping your exposure - what's the
comic industry going to do when they find out he's a great guy?!
*shudder*!

you have preview stuff ready.

Is the cover done?

"what's the
comic industry going to do when they find out he's a great guy?!"

Accuse him of hiring a stand-in.
