One Night in Bangkok. A ridiculous, ridiculous song.

Craig, the Jeff Lynne`s ELO monicker is also brand
recognition for what is basically a solo album, he
wrote, produced and played virtually every instrument,
so i think it`s a corporate decision too. Then there`s
the possible confusion with Jess Glynne!
I remember a Tony Iommi solo album (Seventh Star) was
released as Black Sabbath for marketing purposes.

It's so gratifying to see Jeff Lynne in the middle of such a career resurgence.  Sometimes, it feels like ELO is more popular today then they ever were in the '70s.  His recent concerts over the last 5 years or so have been spectacular, with monster crowds!

And c'mon:  No disrespect to the various musicians who have been a part of the group over the decades, but if one man is ELO, it's Jeff Lynne!!

Not too long ago I asked a friend if they knew the song 'Suicide is Painless.'

They did not.

And they found the title abhorrent... And I could see their point.

There's a new (within the last year or two) Toto song called Devil's Tower that I can't get out of my head the last couple days.

The song was unfinished from the Toto IV sessions so the drumming is all Jeff Porcaro.  Just when I thought it was gone, I saw a kid playing with a pile of refried beans and it reminded me of the mashed potatoes in Close Encounters...sigh.

"Sweet Emotion."  Few songs stick to me like glue like this one - leading to a weekend of watching "Dazed and Confused" and finding Aerosmith concerts on YouTube (but I don't necessarily consider myself a huge Aerosmith fan.)

"Hang On Sloopy"

I listened to it about a week ago, not quite sure why it popped into my head today tho. Probably has something to do with work.
