Mr Byrne.
Going through your incredible commission gallery, several pieces really jump out at me as favorites for just overall style used in the piece.

Possibly my number one favorite is the Daredevil (below).

How did you get the sky rain / lightning effect AND the rain effect on Daredevil himself?

I know some tricks used when creating art for repro, but I read somewhere here at the forum that your commissions don't use any white out or white paint, grease pencil, razors, etc -- just pencil and black ink..

THANKS for your time (educating) a fan to your trade.

Most of the rain is simply vertical strokes of the brush. (Actually,
horizontal strokes, for me. I turned the page sideways!) Since this was for
reproduction, I also used a little razor technique on it, scraping the page
after the inking was finished to produce the white "dotted lines".

I don't think I've seen this drawing before. Stunning piece of work! Very atmospheric and I like the grim determination on DD's face. The dripping rain is a very effective 'effect', especially the water dripping off his left calf.

My favorite JB drawing too. And that's not only because the original art is hanging on my wall

Klaus Janson uses a lot of the technique JB describes (razor) + white out... (as a matter of fact he just sent me a drawing done today with this technique)

I don't care if the original art is "scratched" as long as it looks great.

That could be a perfect cover for Daredevil. The rain looks so real, you can almost feel it .

I'm not sure it's "fair" for someone to be able to draw so many different superheroes in so many diffeent settings so well...
