I just got in an advance copy of "Wizard" #170 and there's an article that says that our own Ethan Van Sciver, artist of "Green Lantern: Rebirth" and other fine comics, will be taking over the regular art chores on "Superman/Batman" with issue #27, with writer Mark Verheiden. I don't believe this has been mentioned elsewhere, yet.

Congrats, Ethan!

Ethan is one of the "new" guys whose work I like very much. Enjoy your new assignment.

Ethan's work is top notch among the new artists. DC chose the right guy for their top book.

While I eagerly look forward to Ethan's art on this book, Mark Verheiden's scripts have not been good on Superman. I cannot imagine they will be any better on Supes/Bats.

That's strange, because Mark was an incredible scriptwriter on SMALLVILLE. I loved his work. I don't know why people aren't grokking his stuff on Superman.

Ethan, I thought you couldn't handle a monthly book. What's up? :)

I haven't picked up any of Ethan's work, but I join with those above in wishing him a hearty congratulations for getting the assignment.

************

He has stated that he is good for 6 issues a year.*  Perhaps it will be bi-monthly. That's still a more reliable release schedule than the title has seen since its debut.

* This statement had no relation to his new assignment. I think it was concerning the GL series.

6 months works for me.  Better to have a book on a bi-monthly schedule that's on time, than a monthly title that's 2 months late.....  Which is what we currently have.
