My avatar is from the back cover of Bernie Wrightson's "Badtime Stories". I saw the picture awhile back and liked it. Replaced another Demon I had as my icon. An image from issue #1 of John Byrne's Blood of the Demon run.
I'm not evil or satanic. Really. Trust me. Muahahahahahaha.

Trevor, for a while I thought your avatar was Terry in costume from Batman Beyond. Very similar look, and his stance is almos tthe iconic Batman sitting on a roof looking like a gargoyle.

Mine is Green Arrow from a Matt Wagner cover. I chose it beacuse I love the character. I used to have Diego Maradona as my avatar and El Eternauta (a character from an argentine sci-fi comic).

Looks cool, and sorta nice to know that those are real Jo eyes staring out from the avatar. :)
"Of course now that all this stuff with Jack Straw has blown up the image has added piquancy but I prefer to think of it representing some ninja feminist (lol) rather than anything devout."
Who's Jack Straw? Pardon the ignorance of this mad li'l Swede?
However Jo... can't ninja feminists be devout? ;>

O I really like Zahn's first Star Wars trilogy (haven't read any more... yet). Thrawn is a good character. Can't help thinking that Star Wars I-III would've been better if Zahn had been given artistic story control. His use of the political backdrop kicks the keister out of Lucas, pardon my French.

Zahn might well have been a good choice, but more likely constraining the story to encompass only the life of Anakin/DVader hampers the narrative. (Much more in the Star Wars board!!)

My avatar is of Klaymen, a character from a 1996 claymation adventure game called Neverhood. Evidently never a big seller and unfortunately OOP, though it's still got a following.

Hope my avatar explanation is not getting too repetitive, but if you want an explanation, by gum you'll get one.
As a Canadian and a fan of JB's Alpha Flight, I decided that I'd like to have a member of the team represent me as my avatar. Guardian was already taken. Then I started thinking about Sasquatch. At the time I lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, so the choice was made.
This past summer I moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The closest Alphan was Box, from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan (later from Red Deer, Alberta, I think). And so my current avatar was selected.

Orlando's been reading Secret Wars again recently, eh?
That line always amused me.

Mine is one I made from a scan of the oldest comic book I've ever owned. It was also my first try at making my own avatar. Turned out ok. The comic is Human Torch # 9 Fall '42(?). I owned it for about 12 years until I sold it on ebay a few years ago.

I chose mine because I liked it. No particular reason behind it.... Though I probably was feeling quite "zen" at the time.

I have had my Avatar for about 3 or 4 years (a picture of one of the characters from a Monty Python action figure line from a few years back). I always if possible stick to the same online name and use the same avatar. I feel it gives me a kind of fixed online identity that I can stand or fall by.
