Ryan,
I love JB's cover to AF #5 and that redo by Hembeck is great, great, great!
Alpha Flight characters have been featured in two of my very favorite commissions by JB: Alpha Flight vs Ultron from 2008 and Puck, Aurora vs Sasquatch from 2007.
Sasquatch and Puck are my favorite AF characters. The real Puck that is. I need them in my commission collection eventually...

It's such a great idea to have Puck start at the corner box on the cover of AF #5.

Did you really have a story for "THE AFFAIR OF THE BRASS BISHOP"?Denny said, "We'll tell you that tale some other time" --- that was over 20 years ago! •• No, I had only a title. And I'll let you in on a little secret. The editors don't really write the footnotes. The writers do!

Really, what was Bill Mantlo thinking at that time?I liked Puck, as JB had created him, and it was pretty unique to have a little person superhero. Why take that special quality away? •• Bill made a habit of taking away the "special" qualities of the characters. Look what he did with Heather. Look what he did with Roger Bochs. Mystifying, really.

...poor, poor Puck...•• And a note to the artist -- if you MUST have a naked character whose naughty bits are hidden by bubbles, don't have the naughty bits be the ONLY parts hidden by bubbles!

And if the character is Aurora, please don't hide any naughty bits with bubbles again. I'm looking at you, JB.

This was given to me by a friend in '85 or so. I was probably about 9, and I have it still. Always a fan of Sasquatch.
