Let me open this up to everyone. Has anyone else been to this event? What are your thoughts? Sounds kind of cool to me.

Outside of some TV and movie memoribilia, which are kind of fun, the place is akin to someone's basement full of Superman related junk...most used and dirty. This is one of the "museum" displays:

When I lived in Chicago I very much wanted to make the trek to Metropolis but never got around to it. I think it's great that this small town that would otherwise be completely passed over has found this small way of insuring its stab at immortality. I'm sure their Superman Celebration for this year will be a big one, what with the movie and everything.

Made a trip to Metropolis when I lived in Evansville, IN, and while it's a cute small town, no way was I going to pay to go through the museum (well, my parents and wife didn't want to even think about going in, my folks were there for riverboat gambling). This was 12 years ago, so I have no idea what the place is like now.

Remember the big theme park that was panned
years ago?
There were some drawing, and designs in a
Superman comic once. They had Superman themed
rides, shows, all kinds of stuff.
As a kid I was dying to go see it. Too bad it never
happened.
(Tho, it seems to me they could do something like
that in Vegas now, what with all the themed casinos
there)

Question: This town has the DC's approval to profit from Superman and all related trademarks?

Nope...that's from mine own personal collection.
I popped in on a road trip down to Memphis a couple years back. It was on the way, and curiosity got the better of me. Stupid curiosity.
