Okay, a few (7 ?) commissions, and the commission list for 2007 will be closed.

I 'd say that they've been quite a lot of quality and stunning stuff done during almost a year. So, once the last one is done, we'll go for a top 5 voting, in each category, but just for 2007. It's always a hard time choosing.

Now, this time, i'd like J.B. to play. But if we ask him, he'd say "a father don't choose among his childrens". Wich migth be rigth, but not what a fan want to ear !
; )

So, to got John play, what about we customise questions for him ?
So :
- What are the commissions you're the prouder of, in a technical way, commissions that gets you over what you first expected ?
- What were the most emotional / fun ones, to do ?
- Rank the commissioners : who gets the best /more surprising ideas ?

Members can add their customised questions.

To all : no order is needed, of course. And remember that choosing does not mean that others commissions are bad. But we just can't go for a top 100.

David

No way I can play this game, David. People have paid good money for these pieces -- hardly fair to tell them theirs is not among my favorites.

Others can play, of course --- tho I suggest (like that ever works) those who want to do more than just describe the pieces, or give their titles, post links rather than the actual graphics. Otherwise this thread could get somewhat ponderous!

my favs in this order...

Doctor Strange - simply put, JB makes me WANT to get into this character
CAP - Sums up his life to keep freedom and way of life, safe
Avengers - Loved the original 2 avengers runs... this has a Perez touch of LOTs going on with JBs style
HULK - Sums up the character in 1 picture nicely, especially with a LARGE hulking image of the HULK front and center...

Way to ignore what JB said about posting images, George!

My favorite is the She-Hulk/ Thundra piece. Bar none.

My favorite standard size commission is probably a tie between the Batman and Spider-Man rooftop scene and the horizontal Hulk vs Thing.

Favorite character poses are Red Sonja, Aquaman and Dr. Doom with three or four others knocking on the door of that list.

Favorite large size commission is probably Matthew Warden's DC Heroes vs DC Villains piece.

I'm waiting for the rest of the commissions for 2007 to come out. It seems like the last one jumped to the head of my favorite lists and maybe the final ones will do the same.

I really can understand that, John, that's why my question were not to choose, but more on the technical and fun-to-do fields.
On the other hand, when you say, for example, that you didn't enjoy so much working on Alpha Fligth, i don't think that fans -including me - feel bad about it.

But the subject here is one year of commissions.
Can i ask then, after watching your 2007 work, what and how do you feel, about your art, your evolution, the inking, etc ?

I'll be voting after the last one to be posted.

Since we are looking at 2007, here are my top five.

1.) Captain America Unfamiliar Territory:  (best Cap so far) http://aycu18.webshots.com/image/27577/2005178445762651021_r s.jpg

2.)Avengers/Defenders

3.) Hulk Montage

4.) Avengers vs. Loki:  http://aycu06.webshots.com/image/26325/2003002548759729614_r s.jpg

5.) X-Men vs Sauron in the SavageLand

Orion vs Kalibak, one of the best things I've seen on here.

Golden Age Cap pose with original Cap Ish one costume and shield.

The Bobcat/Wolverine pose.

Iron Man below.

The Cap/Sgt Rock/Red Skull piece.

Mr. Byrne's Iron Man reaches the top as one of the best poses.
